POSTERS
Climate Change Posters
As a photographer, I am inspired by the world and environments that surround me. During my graphic design studio class in the fall of 2023, I created a series of abstract posters that emphasize global warming and climate change. In the spring of 2024, the posters were printed at their intended size of 24”x36” and submitted to the Ecologies of Care II Exhibition at Iowa State University, where they were awarded one of six Spectrum of Innovation Design Awards.

MB Poster Workshop
During my senior year at Iowa State University, I attended a poster workshop hosted by Micheal Brayley. In this workshop with a handful of other students, we all began the poster project with basic rules: create a fictional poster for our fictitious poster workshop, use only typography and basic shapes, and it had to be in black and white. I began sketching out concepts to no avail and eventually started experimenting with glyphs within font families. Inspired by the elements of the European currency symbols, I used those elements within my MN abbreviation. The final poster design is minimalist and uses simple layout techniques to make the M and N symbols stand out.
Imagine Dragons
Concept Albums
During my sophomore year at Iowa State University, students were asked to create concept albums for their favorite bands. I chose Imagine Dragons because of their distinct alternative sound and creative artwork. I challenged myself in this project by taking photos practically with my camera. The art doll, apple and hands, and fish images were captured in-camera and had effects applied in post using Photoshop. My favorite album design is the apple and hand Evolve album because it is based on how humanity evolved from Adam and Eve after they ate the apple in the Garden of Eden.
